Deptford

Deptford is one of Lewisham’s most vibrant and historic wards, shaped by its riverside setting and long tradition of trade, creativity and activism. It is home to Deptford Creek, where the River Ravensbourne meets the tidal River Thames. Deptford High Street is central to everyday life, supporting independent businesses, markets, nightlife and community spaces that reflect its diverse population. The ward is home to long-standing communities alongside students, creatives and newer residents, creating a dynamic and sometimes challenging mix.
